We will hold not only the regular solo mandolin competition but also the solo mandola, mandoloncello, mandolute competition!

- PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION (by recorded media)
- Choose any part from the final piece (your choice), and record for 5 – 10 minutes.
- No assignment for accompaniment.
- You can apply with a part or one movement of whole tune, but in this case, you need a clear notification to tell us which part you chose.
- FINAL (held on 9th October)
- Free program for 15 – 20 minutes, including the part you recorded in preliminary exam.
- Playing time includes entrance and exit.

Please pay the fee by July 30th by bank transfer.
If the fee is not paid by the due date, your entry will be canceled.
Applicants take the transfer charge, and we do not return the entry fee in any situations.
You have to pay the fee even if you turn down after the preliminary exam.
- Preliminarily examination of both categories
- Judges will select among entries without knowing the entry names.
- 12 entries in category A will go to the semi-final, and 8 entries in category B will go to the final.
- Judges score each entry by three accounts (A, B and C).
- Category A
- Full points in the semi-final is 25 to compulsory and self-chosen each (50 total).
- Final is only self-chosen pieces, with 50 points.
- The final selection depends on the total score from semi-final and final (100 points) and the winner will be chosen by eight judges.
- The highest and lowest points form judges are eliminated and the average of the rest points is calculated.
- Category B
- 50 points for the final. Calculation will be the same with that of category A.
- 2 points are reduced when your play runs over.
- Results will be open to public.
- A judge cannot evaluate the entries who have learned under him (from preliminary exam to the final).
- Program should be different between semi-final and final.
- You are not allowed to complain to the judges.

- Information for the payment of entry fee to the contest (applied to both the category A and B)
- If you pass the preliminary screening (by recording), please pay directly to us during the festival (October 8th~9th).
- If you do not pass the preliminary screening, or if you turn down your application after sending your recording, please pay 10,000 JPN by overseas remittance by 20th August. We will inform the account number to be paid individually.
